Tennis Weeknight Competitions

Running on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 8.00pm - 10.00pm, our very popular and enjoyable mixed social competition caters for all levels of ability. Teams consist of 4 players, two males and two females, with all players playing three sets of doubles.

Seasons are around 10 weeks in length and there are two courts allocated for all matches so there is little or no time waiting around. All teams play finals and all players receive a prize, no matter where you finish. Full team, part team or individual enrolments are welcome!

Cost: $17 per player per round

The price structure allows for 2 washouts during the 7-12 week season. In the event of three or more washouts, make-up matches will be played on designated days and times.

Conditions

1. Single or team entries are welcome
2. Team entries to have two emergencies 1 x male 1 x female
3. Matches commence at 8.00pm and finish by 10.00pm
4. Sets are the 1st to 6 games (tie break at 5 games all and sudden dealth at duece
5. Each player plays 3 sets (2x mixed and 2 x mens/ladies)
6. If there is a draw in teh grand final then each team will nominate their strongest pair to play a long tiebreak

Social Mens

Thursday night is a mens competition, running from 8.00pm - 10.00pm, with 3 players per team. Each participant plays 2 sets of doubles and one set of singles.

Sunday Social Tennis

This social competition is certainly one of the most popular activities down at Albert Park Hockey and Tennis Centre, it's fun, friendly and a bargain! What better way to spend your Sunday afternoons with a hit of the tennis ball along with more than 20 other tennis lovers. Competitions run each Sunday 4.00pm - 7.00pm for $16 ($12 for member card holders) Drinks and laughs are often had after the competition each Sunday.

Graded Singles (Weekends)

Depending upon standards and numbers, this competition allows you to compete each week against another player of similar standard. You and your opponent must agree on a suitable time to play over the weekend and then contact the Centre and book the court. Tennis balls and scoresheets will be provided.

Conditions

1. Matches are the best of 3 sets
2. Sets are the first to six games (tiebreak at 5 games all) and sudden death at deuce
3. There will be 3 levels. Limited to 6 to 8 players in each grade
4. Matches are to be played each weekend, either Saturday 1.00pm to 5.00pm or Sunday 10.00am to 7.00pm
5. Arrange with your opponent a suitable day and time to play the match then ring the
6. Centre and book a court for 1.5hours
7. Matches not played on a scheduled weekend will result in a draw
